Newspapers on cassette for local blind people

   

   Do you know of anyone who
  may benefit from this service

  Anyone who cannot see to read
  print can keep in touch with local
  newspapers by listening to the

             West Shropshire
          Talking Newspaper.

  After easy enrolment our
  cassettes will arrive by post.

    The whole service is

             Free

 

How to join our audience

       Enrolment is easy

  Registered Blind Persons can either ask their   
  Visual Impairment Officer to apply on their
  behalf or apply direct using the application form.

  We simply need name, address and telephone 
  number and confirmation of registration (to
  comply with "Articles for the Blind" Post Office   
  conditions).

  Partially-sighted Persons with close-up vision 
  (with spectacles, if applicable) of N12 or less also
  qualify for the free post concession.

  The certificate needs to be signed by one of the
  qualified persons listed.

    The Talking Newspaper

     A 60 minute weekly digest of the
    local newspapers plus news of
    special interest

      The Talking Magazines

     A 90 minute monthly mixes of
     readings and interviews

     All cassettes are playable
     on standard machines

          "It's like a group of
        friends dropping in for
           a chat each Friday"

as a VOLUNTEER  The Talking Newspaper is entirely staffed by volunteers and vacancies arise from time to time.
                                 Please contact us by letter or telephone

as a DONOR       The Talking Newspaper is financed by donations and fund-raising.                                           
                         All donations are gratefully acknowledged and we have forms for Gift Aid and bequests.
Assistance is welcomed at fund-raising and collections.

LIBRARY SERVICE
We offer members a free postal library service of talking books on cassette. Used books
are always welcomed to increase the choice available
