Introduction
Hearing and Visually Impaired adults can obtain information, services and care through the Social Care Disability Team.

Communication
We can communicate with you in the most appropriate way i.e. BSL, spoken language, SMS,email, Minicom, fax, letter, large print, Braille oraudio-tape. We can also give advice andinformation to help in communicating with other organisations.

Rehabilitation and Mobility Training
To enable visually impaired people to gain skills
to improve safety and independence.

Support
To improve independence and quality of life.

Equipment

  1. To enable individuals to maintain independence.
  2. Specialist equipment is issued where appropriate after an assessment of need.
  3. For hearing aids - individuals need a referral from their GP to the Audiology Department at the local hospital.

As a Disabled Person (Visual or Hearing Impaired)
for people who are eligible.

Complaints/comments/compliments
The Borough has an established complaints procedure. Please ring our Customer Services Unit on 01952 202122. We are also happy to hear when things go well and whether you have any ideas or suggestions to improve our services in the future.
